Build,Operate and Manage IT Infrastructure and Platforms for Business
Infrastructure Architecture covers the core areas of IT used by application developers and architects. They constitute both Hardware and Software.Hardware can be virtualized or physical.Software is mainly different kinds of operating systems and applications that run on the hardware or virtualized hardware. The infrastructure can be mid range systems, mainframes or even desktop or mobile devices judged from the size and capacity of the computing infrastructure. The infrastructure can be layered into operating systems, database systems, web servers, application servers, storage servers, network systems etc. They also include several other types of computing platforms like citrix for rendering virtual desktop servers remotely.
In short, it is a vast area in IT spreading across many sub areas. There are many types of infrastructure classifications and categorizations as well.So it is common for a student to be lost in the vast landscape of it in the initial years. It takes significant amount of time and effort for the determined ones to grapple with the challenges of IT Professionalism.Currently,IT has grown into different computing areas like cloud and virtualization and the career choices are even tougher now a days.
The people who take care of building and managing these infrastructure components are called administrators and architects. They closely work with developers and business users to provide the right kind of infrastructure support required by applications.
There are many IT Product and Service providers and many startups are joining the list as well. The operational, availability, scalabilty, durability, performance, security, auditability, compliance and many other criterias are added to the IT Services now a days and there are cut throat competion among different vendors and service providers. All these requirements are constantly getting to the main conventional demand of an application matching the functional requirement. In short it requires matured industry practioners to constantly interact with students through seminars, workshps etc to orient the young mind to the real requiremnts of modern IT.
The infrastructures can be categorised roughly into operating systems,Middleware Systems,Network and Storage Systems. Each area offers many services and has unique challenges as well.In short, there are hundreds of job types advertised in many areas and demand supply dynamics is different in different areas. Some jobs are very much in demand and requires very sophisticated skills whereas in other jobs competion is fierce as many people compete for a few posts. The right choice and right effort taken in right time will help the aspiring student strike success. An engineer may excel in one and struggle in another as well depending on the nature of job and the physical and mental capacity of the individual. In short one size does not fit all.
Our focus is to assess the Engineer from a very broad perspective and then advise a right course for him/her.Apart from that we allow the students to interact with industry practioners so that
they study in right amount in right areas and just not study aimlessly.
